I want to be a dozen people before I die, each one walking away with a pocket full of life, with drawers full of postcards and fossils and candies and receipts.
Speaking from the vantage of a few (more, actually) decades down the road, I can report that much of life’s joys comes from creating artfully within its limits, making its choices one’s own.
I relate with this so much. I heard a quote that said "you can be anything in this world, but not everything." So it's so important to know thyself and focus on who we really want to be and live a life that doesn't have many regrets at the end of it.
Hi Sherry, this is so beautiful and I cannot explain how much it put a feeling I’ve been having in my life into words. I think about the Fig story from The Bell Jar often. Thank you for writing and sharing this!
Exquisite in every way! And that's coming from someone who's sensibilities are as far away from yours as the East is from the West. To be honest, I actually envy you . . . you and Thoreau!

Yes I find that creative potential dies without boundaries
I think this is the most romantic capturing of the prismatic potentiality and desire of youth that I've ever read.
I love the word “prismatic” 💎
I love the sense that everything is still possible, simultaneously and abundantly possible.
Beautiful

This is how I feel when I listen to Future
Plays Whitney Houston's 'I'm Every Woman'...but wait, I also want to do much more than be every woman.
*might as well enjoy the music while getting there
**Loved this one 🙌
I love the poetic essence exuded throughout the narrative! XX
Just awesome!!

I, at one point in life, felt a similar way. It's nice to be reminded of that time :) Revel in it while you have a hold of it.
This is beautiful.
